A shipping agent for vessels is the person or legal entity is in charge of the measures, not only of an administrative, technical and commercial nature, related to the entry, stay and departure of a vessel in a determined port but also the supervision or carrying out of the operations of receipt, loading, unloading and delivery of mechandise, as well as the embarking and disembarking of passengers, should there be any, and its subsequent cosequences and the negotiating for the aforementioned merchandise (and passengers), for its transport in the vessels used as appointed by and in whose name and on whose behalf he acts.
