The customs-house brokers and commission agents are the intermediaries between the administration and trade. They can be considered as collaborating elements of the administration, directly subordinate to the general management of customs. Any natives who fulfil the requirements stipulated by the ministerio de hacienda (inland revenue), can be designated as accredited customs-house brokers or commission agents to perform in authorised customs offices, having complied with the procedures and formalities set by law.
